Fausto Pupolin was born near Udine in Friuli Venezia-Giulia in north-eastern Italy and after high school studied at the Venice Institute of Architecture. After graduation and national military service in the Italian airforce, he went on to work for two of Italy's foremost architects: Vittorio Gregotti in Milan and Marcello D'Olivo in Rome. In both studios he was involved in large-scale projects such as town planning and major structures.

Since then he has worked internationally, in the United Kingdom, Japan and most recently, the United States, specialising in the design of restaurants and cafés.
Authentic Italian craftsmanship in a modern international setting is the hallmark of Fausto's interiors. Working with local artisans and skilled specialists in everything from mosaics to joinery in his native region, he has created his own characteristic style based on a blend of traditional materials crafted for a contemporary environment.
